Raffy Tulfo: From Broadcast Icon to Political Powerhouse

Raffy Tulfo's rise from a fearless broadcaster to a political heavyweight is a story of unwavering public trust, relentless service, and an unyielding commitment to justice. With a career spanning decades in investigative journalism, Tulfo became a household name, earning the title "Idol ng Bayan" (People’s Idol) for his no-nonsense approach to resolving everyday injustices. His transition into politics was not just expected; it was a natural extension of his long-standing advocacy for the underprivileged.

A Voice for the Voiceless

Before entering politics, Tulfo’s name was synonymous with public service. His popular program, Raffy Tulfo in Action, became a beacon of hope for ordinary Filipinos seeking justice. Whether it was labor disputes, domestic conflicts, or cases of corruption, Tulfo’s show provided swift action, forcing accountability on those who otherwise might evade it. His unique style—direct, fearless, and compassionate—resonated with millions, making him one of the most trusted figures in Philippine media.

His ability to address societal issues where bureaucracy often failed gave him a mass following that many politicians could only dream of. Unlike traditional lawmakers who built their careers through party affiliations and backroom dealings, Tulfo’s ascent was powered by the people’s trust in his integrity and decisiveness.

A Natural Transition to Politics

Tulfo’s decision to run for the Senate in 2022 was met with overwhelming support. Garnering over 23 million votes, he secured a seat with one of the highest tallies in the election—a testament to his widespread appeal. His campaign was straightforward: bring the same brand of direct public service from his show to the halls of government.

As a senator, Tulfo focused on issues that directly affected ordinary Filipinos. Labor rights, housing, social welfare, and consumer protection were at the core of his legislative agenda. He pushed for policies that streamlined government services, empowered workers, and ensured swift justice for the aggrieved. His background in investigative journalism gave him an edge—he knew the loopholes in the system and how to close them.

Challenges and Triumphs

Despite his popularity, Tulfo faced challenges transitioning from media to government. Unlike his show, where swift action was the norm, the slow-moving legislative process required patience and diplomacy. Critics doubted his ability to navigate the complexities of politics, but Tulfo’s straightforward approach proved effective. He leveraged his public influence to pressure agencies into action, often bringing bureaucratic inefficiencies to light.

His critics argued that his methods were unconventional, sometimes bordering on populism. Yet, for his supporters, Tulfo was exactly what the country needed—a leader unafraid to challenge the status quo. His tenacity in addressing social issues, coupled with his ability to engage directly with the people, cemented his reputation as a senator who genuinely worked for the masses.

Future Political Career

With his growing influence, many speculate about Tulfo’s next move. Will he run for higher office? His massive following and proven track record make him a formidable contender. However, his approach remains pragmatic—he focuses on delivering tangible results rather than engaging in political theatrics.

Raffy Tulfo’s accession to power is a reflection of the changing landscape of Philippine politics. In an era where traditional politicians struggle to connect with the people, Tulfo’s brand of direct, unfiltered public service sets a new standard. Whether as a broadcaster or a senator, his mission remains the same: to fight for the ordinary Filipino.

As his political journey unfolds, one thing remains certain—Raffy Tulfo is not just a passing phenomenon. He is a force that continues to reshape governance, proving that genuine service, not mere rhetoric, earns the people’s trust.

Microsoft Office365

Let's be honest about it. Apple office document apps sucks. Although, I am using Macbook 12-inch model as my personal laptop, I hate their office apps not because they are buggy or not user-friendly; but because of their limited adoption. Few people are using it (none of my friends and colleague uses it). I cannot use it in my work because people will curse me. There is only one instance where I used it, i.e. during our hackaton event. That's it.  As expected, like any office worker; I am a regular user of Microsoft Office, i.e. word, powerpoint and excel. I bought office365 since it is cheaper and you always get the latest version. I am using it for 2 years now and my license will end August of this year (August 08, 2018 to be exact). I bought my last 2 licenses from lazada.com.ph for less than 2,000 pesos. As I don't want to lose my access to onedrive.com and office apps; I bought a new 1 year license from lazada.com.ph for 1,499 pesos inclusive of the shippi...
